Sharon X. Aguilera serves as the lead of our real estate practice at Gentium Law Group, LLC. With a distinguished career spanning over 15 years, Ms. Aguilera's expertise extends to representing a diverse array of clients in both commercial and residential real estate transactions. Her comprehensive experience includes advocacy for sellers and buyers, as well as legal support for landlords, tenants, and borrowers involved in residential mortgage foreclosure proceedings.
After graduating from law school, Ms. Aguilera embarked on her legal career by joining a law firm where she conducted extensive research on patent and civil law issues. Her responsibilities included preparing comprehensive legal memoranda on these matters.
Ms. Aguilera’s legal prowess extends beyond traditional representation, making her a go-to resource for clients with unique housing needs. Notably, she has represented clients pre-qualified with the City of Chicago, including the Chicago Housing Trust, in their quest for affordable neighborhood housing solutions. In addition to her work with the Northside Community Development Corporation, Ms. Aguilera’s unwavering commitment to excellence in real estate law consistently yields successful outcomes for her diverse clientele.
In addition to her legal practice, from 2002 to 2011, Ms. Aguilera served as a legal volunteer for the Chicago Legal Advocacy for Incarcerated Mothers (CLAIM). In this role, she provided essential legal and educational services to incarcerated mothers, focusing on maintaining the vital bond between these mothers and their children. Her efforts supported and empowered incarcerated mothers as they transitioned back into the community. She was also an advocate for change, actively discussing and sharing information on local and national issues impacting the prison system and social justice movements. Her work at CLAIM allowed her to build skills and competence, promote change in state practices, and break down stereotypes surrounding incarcerated women.
Ms. Aguilera currently serves as a Board of Director for the Spanish Coalition for Housing, an organization dedicated to providing housing solutions and support to the community. Furthermore, Ms. Aguilera is the Illinois REALTOR®'s state legislative contact for Illinois House of Representatives 2nd District, Elizabeth “Lisa” Hernandez, where she actively participates in legislative initiatives that impact real estate and housing.
Additionally, Ms. Aguilera currently serves as a trustee for the Chicago Association of Realtors Foundation, where she is actively engaged in supporting and enhancing the real estate community.
Her dedication to our clients, commitment to social justice, and active involvement in community organizations are integral to her role at Gentium Law Group, LLC where the firm is committed to delivering outstanding legal services.
DAVID HERRERA
Attorney at Law

Mr. Herrera spent 17 years working for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. David began his career at the Appellate Division and later served in the Felony Trial Division from 2008 to 2017. In the felony division, David was responsible for the prosecution of felony offenses including violent crimes, sex crimes, weapon, and narcotic offenses.
David has extensive trial experience having tried over 40 felony jury trials in Cook County and over 500 bench trials. David concentrates his practice on criminal defense including traffic matters, narcotics, and homicide defense. David is a skilled trial attorney who litigates all over Cook County and in the collar counties.

MAX J. MURILLO
Paralegal
Max J. Murillo is the paralegal of the Immigration Practice. A bilingual Spanish-English speaker, he assists in the representation of our clients in naturalization, permanent residence, nonimmigrant visas and deportation proceedings, among others.
Mr. Murillo holds a bachelors degree in Political Science and Speech Communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he is also a deacon at his church.
